This, like the other chalet bungalow we completed, was a challenging project as the house was built on a steep hillside.
The house had been split in 2 in 1983 as 2 separate rental properties. The brief was to turn it back into one house, a large dining/ kitchen area front to back in the house, a large outside dining area built into the hillside, a new driveway, a viewing area overlooking the countryside to the front, all new services (electric, heating, water & security), four bathrooms and finishes to a very high standard.
We liaised with our preferred architects to fulfil the brief & the Local Authority as the house is built in an AONB.
The rear of the house was dug out, all the floors (both ground and 1st) were removed and replaced, a new design orientated kitchen (designed by our preferred kitchen designer), with a bi-fold door was fitted. A 2nd staircase was removed, 2 new log burners were installed to Hetas standards (one is a two view servicing the kitchen/diner & the lounge), every room was refurbished, 4 new bathrooms, a new staircase, taking out of walls with sign off from our engineers. The entire house was plastered and painted.
The kitchen was designed & built to such a high standard, photos of it have featured at the manufacturers design office.
All new fascias, guttering, windows (to Fensa standards), the gardens were remodelled and the fruit trees professionally pruned.
We also organised all fittings and finishes including carpets and decorative lighting, so the clients moved in on time.
